How to Clip on Twitch

Have you wondered how streamers get clips of their Livestream? It’s easier than you think!

Whenever you have an epic, funny, or any moment in your stream where you’d like to clip it and save it to upload to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else, all you need to do is be on your Twitch channel, then hover your mouse over the bottom right corner of the video player and click the “Clip” button or press ALT + X on your keyboard.

A red arrow points to a "Clip (alt+x)" button on a Twitch interface

This will then take you to another tab where you can review your clip, extend or shorten the duration, and name it. Once you have done that, click the publish button to encode, upload, and give you a link to share it.

Another way to create a Twitch clip is to click Content > Video Producer from your Streamer Dashboard, click the three dots next to the stream you would like to clip, and click Watch. This will open the VoD in a new tab.

Once in the VoD tab, you can scrub through the video to find out where you want to clip, click the clip button, extend or shorten the duration, and name it. Once you have done that, click the publish button to encode and upload, and it will give you a link to share it.
