Getting ready to start streaming on Twitch? One of the first things you’ll need is your stream key—a unique code that connects your streaming software to your Twitch channel. In this guide, we’ll walk you through finding your stream key and where to add it in OBS Studio.
Important: Keep your stream key private. Anyone with access to it could stream on your channel, so don’t share it publicly.
To find your stream key on Twitch, follow these steps:
- Log into Twitch.
- Go to Creator Dashboard:
- Click on your profile picture at the top-right corner.
- From the dropdown menu, select Creator Dashboard.
- Click on your profile picture at the top-right corner.
- Access Stream Settings:
- In the Creator Dashboard, find the Settings menu on the left sidebar.
- Click on Stream under Settings.
- In the Creator Dashboard, find the Settings menu on the left sidebar.
- Reveal Your Stream Key:
- In the Stream settings, you’ll see a section called Primary Stream Key.
- Click on Copy.
Once you have your Twitch stream key, here’s how to add it to OBS:
- Open OBS.
- In the lower-right corner, click Settings to open the settings window.
- In the left sidebar, click on Stream.
- In the Service dropdown menu, select Twitch.
- Paste your Twitch stream key into the Stream Key field.
- Click OK to save your settings. Now OBS is linked to your Twitch channel!
You’re all set! When you’re ready, just click Start Streaming in OBS, and you’ll go live on Twitch.
