Streaming on Twitch is not just about sharing your gameplay; it’s also about engaging with your audience. One effective way to do this is by displaying your Twitch chat on your stream. This makes your viewers feel more connected and helps you keep track of their messages more easily. In this article, we will guide you on how to add Twitch chat on screen using the Streamlabs Chatbox widget and OBS Studio.

Why display Twitch chat on the screen?

Viewer Involvement: Displaying the chat allows viewers to see their own messages on screen, making them feel more involved in the stream. This can encourage them to take part more actively and feel more connected to the content.

Community Building: You create a sense of community among your viewers by showcasing the chat. They can see each other’s messages and reactions, fostering a feeling of togetherness. This can encourage viewers to return to future streams and become regular members of your community.

Entertainment Value: Sometimes, the chat itself can be entertaining. Viewers may crack jokes or engage in conversations with each other. By showing the chat, you let your audience enjoy not only your content but also the interactions within the community.
